Additional opportunities to join in multi-party research and analysis programs include:

  • Future Energy Systems Center: This industry research consortium delivers actionable insights for navigating the energy transition based on multi-sectoral analyses of emerging technologies, changing policies, and evolving economics.
  • Data Center Power Forum: The Data Center Power Forum provides reliable insights into energy supply, grid operations, load management, the built environment, and electricity market design and regulatory policy for data centers. Requires membership in the Future Energy Systems Center and MIT Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research.
  • Future of Fuels study: This multi-year, interdisciplinary study led by MITEI is analyzing and assessing promising raw materials and pathway combinations for production of sustainable drop-in fuels.
  • Consistent Lifecycle and Economic Assessment Recommendations (CLEAR) initiative: Led by an expert steering committee from academe and U.S. national laboratories, this two-year initiative aims to establish best practices for techno-economic and emissions analyses of emerging energy and climate technologies.

Our Affiliate members are primarily individual donors and foundations that support our energy- and climate-related activities across the Institute. Affiliate members receive access to Energizing@MIT: MITEI’s Annual Research Conference, our Spring Symposium, as well as other symposia, colloquia, and seminars.
