Leia Amarra Balmforth

Leia Amarra Balmforth began her career at MIT in 2006 as a financial assistant in the School of Engineering (ChemE, DMSE). As a recent college-graduate, she wanted to put her Bentley-earned bachelor and master’s degrees to work in Corporate America and soon realized that MIT was home. She has worked in the Departments of Biology and Brain & Cognitive Sciences prior to coming to MITEI in 2017. As assistant director of financial and research administration, Balmforth helps navigate MIT’s data systems, manages the budgets, and ensures that MITEI staff engages in fun activities.
